Inauguration of the Restored Zoological Museum on International Museum Day (18 May 2023)
The Zoological Museum of the University of Colombo, revamped and relocated within a historical building in the Faculty of Science, will be ceremonially inaugurated on the 18th of May 2023. The day was particularly picked for the event as it has been designated the International Museum Day. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Professor HD Karunaratne, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Upul Sonnadara, and many other dignitaries will be present at the event. Several key events will take place on this day. Among them are the laying of the stone plaque which would symbolize the collaborative partnership between the University of Colombo and the Wildlife & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka (WNPS) in supporting the Zoological Museum and the launching of the Zoological Museum website.
